Brisbane City Council is seeking motivated and customer focused individuals to join our Bus Operator Traineeship Program.

No previous bus driving experience is required.

We’ll provide the training, support and development needed to help you build a rewarding long-term career helping keep Brisbane moving.

What you’ll be doing

As a Bus Operator Trainee, you’ll complete a structured training program before operating Brisbane City Council buses across the city.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Safely operate passenger vehicles
  • Deliver exceptional customer service
  • Assist customers with travel information
  • Maintain safe and reliable transport services
  • Respond professionally to challenging situations
  • Contribute to a positive experience for the Brisbane community

Who we’re looking for

Most importantly, you’ll bring a positive attitude, strong communication skills and a commitment to safety and customer service.

Minimum Requirements

  • Australian C Class driver’s licence held for at least three years
  • Good driving history
  • Australian working rights
  • Ability to obtain a Queensland Driver Authorisation
  • Availability to attend the full training program
